What is it and for whom is it?

South Africa has legislation that ensures transformation so that previously disadvantaged citizens can partner with established corporations for mutual participation. This may be through economic activities of the owner’s business or by involving black and female in the management structures of corporations.

Due to social and cultural differences, genuine attempts to partner in these important transformative initiatives are often met with frustration, mistrust and a low success rate.

Black and female corporate executives often feel marginalised in environments they perceive as having a Western, male-dominated culture that is not welcoming or accepting them.

Some even feel that they have to overcome assumed incompetence when they are appointed to these leadership positions.

How is the coaching delivered?

The coaching is delivered to the team and to the individuals over a number of sessions.

These team coaching workshops are intended to bring awareness of diversity and the value that it creates. We first assess how the team has managed diversity amongst its members.

This ensures that the coaching journey is not viewed as the black or female executive being brought up to speed; the coaching work assists the team to understand and respect each other as individuals in their differing cultures, genders and contributions to the team and organisation.

We also coach the individuals within the team so that they have a space to explore their perceptions of diversity in a context that is free of judgement.

To increase the success of the corporations being developed in the partnerships, we apply the entrepreneur coaching approach (refer below).[/vc_column_text][/partner_text_static_image][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row”][vc_column][partner_text_static_image image=”756″][vc_column_text]

What are the benefits?

In corporate teams, diversity is leveraged to create greater harmony in the team’s relations. This, in turn, increases the collaboration and unity with the team.

The quality and speed of decisions improve over time; there is a greater contribution by all team members to strategic thinking and to the implementation of decisions for reaching organisational objectives.

Other benefits may include reduced stress and conflict amongst the team members.

In B-BBEE scenarios, and ESD in particular, the coaching involves group coaching that helps the role players to gain a deeper understanding of each other and their roles as well as the expectations that come with their relationship.

The coaching increases the success and sustainability rate of smaller businesses that receive support.[/vc_column_text][/partner_text_static_image][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1533282137204{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;}”][/vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”90px”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text]
