What are the benefits of transition coaching?

Leaders who have undertaken transition coaching list the following benefits from the coaching:

What is transition coaching and who is it for?

Transition coaching is a coaching program that is designed for the individual and their team. This is done with the inputs of the individual, their Human Capital or Organisational Development Unit, and their manager.

The transition coaching journey is for people who are dealing with or preparing for significant change. These changes may include taking on a new role which can be a new job, a promotion or a taking on a new project. The coaching focuses on the technical and tactical planning that is required to understand the complexities, key considerations and priorities relating to the change. It also focuses on the emotions of the individual including anxiety, self-doubt and discouragement.

It is not uncommon that the coaching relationship may last beyond the specific reason for which it was originally intended.[/vc_column_text][/partner_text_static_image][partner_text_static_image layout=”right” image=”1515″][vc_column_text]

How is the coaching delivered?

Sessions are held between the coach and the individual.

If the coaching is sponsored by the organisation, meetings may be held with the organisation’s representative (Human Resources or Organisational Development). This ensures that expectations are clarified upfront.

The person being coached remains the primary coaching client and confidentiality regarding what is discussed during sessions is maintained whilst the required updates are provided to the sponsor.

The sponsor’s coaching objectives are agreed upon with the individual being coached to ensure that the sponsor gains the desired value. The coaching is also given to compliment the organisation’s onboarding/ induction processes.

How long does it take?

The coaching relationship is customised to the individual, the team, the organisation, and the coaching context. The duration is discussed and agreed upon between the coach and the client.
